Argentina makes sex-change surgery a legal right
An article in English about Argentina’s new gender identity bill, passed earlier tonight.

“Any adult will now be able to officially change his or her gender, image and birth name without having to get approval from doctors or judges — and without having to undergo physical changes beforehand, as many U.S. jurisdictions require.”
YES!

I will continue to reblog news about this and not blog about Obamaaaaa.

Health At Every Size

These women are all have BMIs considered to be “overweight” or “obese”. These pictures go to show that someone’s size does not necessarily reflect their lifestyle choices, exercise routine, or eating habits. In fact, after reading some of these women’s bios I discovered that they exercised much more than I do!

Shaming people for their appearance and making assumptions about their health is ineffective and it discourages people from getting involved in healthy athletic activities. Encourage body positivity, respect all bodies and encourage everyone to see fitness as fun!

YES! I also think it’s important to help people find alternative ways to exercise. I hate going to gyms, running and playing team sports but there are so many other options out there.

I’m so impressed by the passion and bravery of the Italian activists who freed 30 beagles from Green Hill, a massive, hellish breeding farm that supplies dogs to vivisection labs.

Because of their loving and forgiving nature, beagles are commonly tested on all across the world (notoriously by cigarette companies, with the exception of American Spirits). Unfortunately, a few of the beagles were confiscated and returned to their prison, but they will not be forgotten. My hope is that their story and their sacrifice will be shared and publicized so that people will open their hearts and eyes and stand up against unreliable, unjustified animal testing

Please sign the petition demanding the closure of Green Hill and the release of their 2500 lonely, suffering dogs.

Keep being awesome, Italians.

Can someone explain why cigarettes need to be tested on beagles? What exactly are they even testing for?
